What are the characteristics of solar gel batteries

2019-12-05
Solar gel batteries are the application of 'batteries' in solar photovoltaic power generation. Currently, there are four types of lead-acid maintenance-free batteries, ordinary lead-acid batteries, gel batteries and alkaline nickel-cadmium batteries. The currently widely used solar batteries in China are: lead-acid maintenance-free batteries and gel batteries. These two types of batteries are suitable for reliable performance because of their inherent "free" maintenance characteristics and less pollution to the environment. Solar power systems, especially unattended workstations.

Solar batteries should have the following characteristics:

1.Better deep cycle capability, with very good overcharge and overdischarge capabilities.
2.Long life, special process design and gel electrolyte guarantee long life battery.
3.Suitable for different environmental requirements, such as high altitude, high temperature, high and low temperature and other conditions can be used normally under different conditions.

How solar cells work
During the day, the sunlight illuminates the solar module, so that the solar cell module generates a DC voltage of a certain amplitude, converts the light energy into electrical energy, and transmits it to the intelligent controller. After the intelligent controller is overcharged, the electrical energy transmitted by the solar module It is delivered to the battery for storage; and storage requires a battery. The so-called battery is an electrochemical device that stores chemical energy and releases electrical energy when necessary.

The main components of lead batteries are as follows:
Negative plate (sponge lead.Pb) ---> active substance
Electrolyte (dilute sulfuric acid) ---> sulfuric acid (H2SO4) + water (H2O)
Battery case
Isolation board
Other (liquid plug, cap, etc.)

Use and maintenance of solar gel batteries

1.Working temperature -50 ~ 50 ℃

2.The method for connecting the solar battery is: connecting the positive electrode of the solar battery to the positive electrode, and the negative electrode to the negative electrode. In this way, the power of the solar battery is doubled, and the voltage is the same as that of a solar battery. The two poles of the solar battery must not be short-circuited.

3.For a solar battery that is charged for the first time after a new installation or renovation, charge it for a long time. For the initial charge, it should be charged at a current of 1/10 of the rated capacity. Before installation, you must measure the adequacy of the battery. If the power is insufficient, please charge the battery for more than 8-16 hours in a sunny place or use AC power to fully charge the battery. Overcharge should be strictly avoided. When using AC power for normal charging, it is best to use a hierarchical charging method, that is, to charge with a constant current with a larger current in the early stage of charging, and change to the conventional constant voltage floating charging method after charging to the uniform charging voltage and constant voltage for a certain time.

4.Keep the battery itself clean. Installed solar battery poles should be coated with vaseline to prevent corrosion of the poles.

5.Equipped with online monitoring and management technology for solar batteries, online measurement and analysis of internal resistance of solar batteries, timely detection of battery defects, and timely maintenance.

6.To prevent the solar battery from freezing and cracking in winter, and avoid direct sunlight in summer, place the solar battery in a cool, ventilated place.
